The Media area stores images and other files used across posts, pages, and the website. A well-maintained library makes content faster to build and keeps the public site accessible and efficient.
Select Media from the main dashboard navigation.
Before uploading, use an appropriate file format and crop the image to the intended aspect ratio. Keep file sizes reasonable and use a descriptive filename such as student-dashboard-overview.webp instead of IMG_0042.png.
Create or edit a post or page.
Insert an image or choose the featured-image setting.
Select an existing asset or upload a new one.
Add alternative text that communicates the image's purpose.
Confirm the crop and preview the content.
Describe information that a visitor would miss if the image did not load. Keep alternative text empty only when the image is purely decorative and the editor supports that choice. Do not begin with “Image of.”
Reuse the same asset instead of uploading duplicates.
Replace outdated screenshots when the interface changes.
Avoid deleting an asset until you know where it is used.
Check image-heavy pages on a slower connection.
Respect ownership and licensing requirements.
Confirm accepted file types and size limits.
Confirm folders, search, filters, replacement, cropping, asset details, deletion safeguards, and usage references in the live Media area.
