Use leaderboards and monitor program health

Updated on Sat Aug 08 2026

Leaderboards make point standings visible, while the overview helps administrators monitor whether the program is active, balanced, and behaving normally.

      Open leaderboard information

      1. Go to Dashboard → Gamification.

      2. Use Top learners this month for a quick monthly ranking.

      3. Select Open leaderboard or the Leaderboards section to inspect the broader ranking when available.

The overview displays each listed learner’s position and point total. Confirm who can see rankings before using them for public recognition.

      Monitor the program

      1. Review Points awarded, Active participants, Badges earned, and Rewards redeemed.

      2. Check Participation & points for the last 30 days and filter by course when needed.

      3. Review Top earning rules for the number of triggers, participating learners, and rule status.

      4. Inspect Program health for active-rule count, configured rewards, and unusual earning-pattern checks.

      5. Use Recent activity and View points log to investigate individual awards.

      Interpret the signals

      • High point volume with few participants can indicate repeated earning by a small group.

      • A frequently triggered rule with few learners may need stricter frequency limits.

      • No configured rewards is acceptable when points, badges, or levels are the intended motivators.

      • Unexpected changes should be investigated in the points log before rankings or rewards are finalized.

      Good practices

      • Use leaderboards only when competition suits the audience and learning context.

      • Offer private progress indicators or milestone recognition for learners who do not want public ranking.

      • Review rankings for duplicate or easily repeated triggers.

      • Define how ties, inactive users, and corrected point totals will be handled.

      Verification note

Confirm leaderboard visibility, time-range controls, course filters, tie handling, and any reset behavior in the target workspace before publishing those details as policy.
